Bushing trick

hey gang, just thought i'd pass on another way to get those pressed in bushings such as the trac bar or springs. Most of the time gearheads burn them suckers out with a torch but that method produces sooty smoke. I prefer to take the drill (1/8th in bit) and drill about 8-10 holes next to the steel insert and using a wooden dowel to drive it out. Takes just a couple of minutes and no smoke.

I use a hole saw drill bit, about 1" - 1.25" or so. That way, you just drill one hole, then the center and remaining bushing just fall out.

Another great idea- never thought of that. Burning them out takes to long but to each there own.
