Trans Flush and Filter question

2000 Expedition, 5.4, 4 speed auto, 2 wheel drive and I am pretty sure I have the 4R100. My question is do I have the deep pan or shallow pan? I went to the NAPA site and the descriptions are deep pan is 4 3/4" and the shallow pan is 3 1/2". Does that sound right?

I'll probably get the Motorcraft FT113 filter or a WIX 58967, but aren't there filters of similar quality and durability? I've used Fram and Purolator without any issues in the past, but now I want to "poll" the experts here!

I believe that the stock pans that come on the truck are all the same depth(shallow i guess)... either you have an L shaped, or box shaped pan, depending on your trani. Only aftermarket pans come with the deep option, to hold more fluid, run cooler, etc... but if you have a stock pan, i dont think its deep. Regarding the filter, ive used Fram only, but i would honestly use whatever they had at the parts store... you dont have to replace a trani fluid filter like you do an oil filter... at every single change. I do replace it every single time, becasue why not when the pan is dropped... but as far as brand, i dont think it matters, they dont get gunked up like an oil filter does and dont have as much crap passing through them as an oil filter does. The very first time i changes the fluid, i found quite a bit of shavings in the pan, but have not found nearly any in my past few changes.
Just FYI, i always use Red Line or Mobil 1 trani fluid. More $$, but they are quality fluid and give me peace of mind.
