Hello, sorry to be bugging again on this forum but I have one last question with regards to lifting the front.
I know this is the crappiest way to go but to get a small lift from my factory front coils, can anyone recommend the rubber inserts for the coils or those metal ones that have the bolts and nuts which fit between the coils? Can you hurt the spring at all? I guess if you stretched them too much you could snap a coil?
Anyway, rubber or metal? without removing coil...easy way but crappy.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-May-02 AT 07:40 PM (EST)]DO NOT GET THOSE THEY ARE NOT SAFE. I have seen those almost come right thru a fender when a truck hit a good speed bump it broke and shot out like a bullet. If you desperately need to lift your front end send me an email and we can work something out on a set of urethane coil spring spacers for the front end so you can do it right
email me at : ctdoffroad@***.net
on my truck I have the urethane bushings and they only took 1 hour to install on both sides my truck is a 1982 F150 which is basically the same as yours. The whole thing is very easy to do
