Soft Brakes

This weekend I replaced the starter in my '93, after getting the new starter in and getting the truck started i noticed that the the dask brake warning light was on. I stepped on the brake pedal and it went straight to the floor. I Topped up the brake fluid ( it was down, not empty). Started it back up light still on. If I pump the brakes the pedal will begin to firm up, but if i stop pupping for 2-3 sec. the next pump will go to the floor again. I don't see any brake fluid on the ground anywhere and the lines were replaced in August. Any thoughts on what it could be?

IIRC, if the booster is bad you'd get a hard pedal (because of no boost assist) might be one of the following: (a) air in lines (b) master cylinder needs bleeding or replacing or (C) a loose line connection. Did this just occur after replacing the starter or was it a gradual thing? Check to see if anything got knocked loose while installing the starter.

Mine just did this... It ended up being a leaking caliper. Don't ask how, but the inside pad slid out from it's spot, and the piston was rubbing the disk. I'm pretty perceptive, and can't believe I didn't feel something wierd.
A full inspection should be your top priority.
