engine noise
anyone ever come across a weird gurgling noise from the motor when u are at or around speeds of 40 to 50 MPH. it seems to happen when i get on the gas as its shifting gears but if i get out of the gas during it and then get back on it the noise usually goes away. i just had a tune up within the last 20000 miles or so and even had a few coil packs changed also. i hope its not a internal problem i have about 156000 on the truck its a 01 250sd with the 5.4l in it

Where you having this problem earlier with low mileage. I have a 2006 Ford F250 XLT 5.4L at 90,000 miles and I hear the same noise. The sound comes around 40 to 50 miles and the RMPS is right below the 2 mark. It also happens when I let go of the gas pedel and hit on the gas fast around the same rpms. Does this also happen to you? I would like to know what this noise is and I hope it's not internal. I haven't done any tune up yet. I hope someone at FTE could tell us what this sound is. Maybe someone with low mileage on their truck could help. Let us know what you find out.

it only started a few months ago at about 155000 miles never happened befor that, im hoping its only a bad plug or wire or coilpack but befor i go see my machenic i hope someome has some good imput on what it might be. SOMEONE HELP ME

When you go back to your mechanic ask him if the sound is the water pump going bad. Also, ask him if the timing belt make noise when it's time to get changed. The truck has high mileage and maybe it's one of does things. Let us know
