4X4 question

I sold my 1972 F-250 about a year ago, so I could buy a 1988 F-250HD 4X4.

I really miss my 72 and am not a big fan of the 1988, which made me wonder if it is possible to put the 72 body on an 88 frame.

I guess I should check in with the 87-96 form also !

Thanks

the body mounts are not in the right place, but i am almost 100% sure the frame rails are the same distant apart, you would need to have the same cab bed config on both trucks, or be willing to cut the frame......and the crew cab long bed i know are the same wheel base on both trucks...i think it might be possible but have never done it.

The rear frame rails of 1967/72 F100/350 2WD's / 1967/72 F100 4WD's / 1967/77 F250 4WD HIGH BOYS are 33 1/2" wide, also some F350's used this same frame width thru 1979.

You won't find the frame rails of any truck after 1979 with that narrow rear frame.

Measure your Crew Cab frame rail width, Brady...it's the same = 33 1/2"

Absolutely it is possible. You will need to be a little creative, but it can be done.

the only other thing that is not as much physical is the law. when you go to register the truck you might end up in trouble......

In our state they have a way to deal with that too, they will issue you a new North Carolina VIN number.

Ain't that a kick in the head!

Brady, I think you ate too many Cheese-Its at our last Chapter GTG, and they fried your brain.

Either that or you are suffering from myopia after spending your entire day on FTE!

The REAR FRAME rails are 33 1/2" inches wide.

I said nothing about the front rails. They are the same width 1967/79.
