I just picked up a 92 ranger and im tying to decide what to do with it. Has anyone ever put a 390 or 428 in a small ranger? Its a 3.0 now, I was wanting to go the windsor route but figured id research this a bit first. thanks nate
Yes. There is a guy on the net54 forum who did this. He posted a bunch of pics and it's really nice! I'll see if I can find his info unless someone here has more.
ya I understand that just curious if you think its sensible.....I guess my dads buddy has a 280z with a 6-71 428 so anythings possible. actaully alot of room under the hood of that thing. He also has a 62 galaxie drag car and a wall full of FE intakes (tunnel wedge, cross rams....really neat stuff) anyway, Im on a budget and my tools are limited. just lookin' for pointers
Just to add that link lists the tunnelwedge as a aftermarket intake which is not entirely true. Ford did sell this as a over the counter item as the C8AX-9424-A casting. Today Dove still casts these as aftermarket for both MR and HR applications. BTW checkout the rest of that Mustangtek site. The library section has most of the Ford performance catalogs and brochures scanned for your viewing pleasure.
i actaully have some old three barrell alumium spacers still in the packages, cal custom i think? What would of they of come on? chryslers or something?
