Were you ever able to get it to repeat the issue on the other fuel tank? If not, have you been back to the tank it was on when the problem first appeared yet?

If it is tank specific, then I agree that a weak fuel pump could be the problem.

No sir. Haven't been able to repeat the issue. Of course, I haven't been able to drive my truck for long periods of time (I'm off today, I'll try to get SOMETHING done). However I did drive my truck with unusual enthusiasm attempting to get my truck to fall on it's face again. It didn't. The truck accelerated fine, ran fine, downshifted and upshifted fine. The only difference between the tanks was on my rear one my motor revved past 4Grand; although, I wasn't able to get it to do so again.

I am back on my front tank, the possible problem tank. I'll drive my truck around today and post here with the results, and from there I'll start making calls; first thing I want to do is get a compression check and make sure I don't have a half-dead cylinder. The reason I suggest this is because of how "moody" you all have heard me say my truck can be. I suspect a cylinder that works better some days than others.
Although my truck has been taken care of by both previous owners, I believer they worked it harder than it was meant to.

I think it's a gremlin. He discovered I was on to him and therefor he disappeared, just to mess with my head.
As soon as I write this he will be back, underneath my engine compartment so the next time I take my truck out it will bog down.

Oh, I'm sure it's still there. I suspect it has something to do with going WOT and giving it just enough to downshift. I didn't think about this yesterday or I would have done this. I just went WOT over and over and the truck ran fine. Like I said I need time to drive the truck and mess with it. I said I was going to take her for a long run today but with the trafic out there due to Thanks Giving I've decided to pose pone the test drive. Going out now is asking for trouble.

I called Ford today and got some prices. I have a list of things I want to do.

1)Compression test
2)TPS (Ford wants $280 for this. I'm going to do this myself. It's as simple as unplugging and plugging in a new sensor, correct?)
3)Ignition coil
4)Tranny oil filter
5)Recalibrate my speedo. Ford says they don't know for sure if they can do this, though?

I have another question. Isn't there two sensors on my throttle body the guy at Ford didn't know what I was talking about. All he knew about was the TPS. What is the other sensor called, then?

Thanks again everyone.

Dont have the dealer/shop reprogram your PSOM-do it yourself-all you need is a good ground. And it can be done on all F series electronic odometers---if the maximum changes havent been exceeded yet. See how below:
