Suspension lift

I recently was under my truck changing the oil and was at the same time doing a quick visual maintence.I noticed nothing wrong but discovered something funny. My new Skyjacker springs( ABOUT 1 MONTH OLD )was looking already used. What I mean is that the paint on my springs was of a **** poor quality. They looked 1 year old not 1 month old.The paint from day one on them was hardly close to the springs they displayed at the shop. How about you guys? Did or does your quality of paint finish on your Skyjacker springs leave alot to be desired.I figured if you pay alot for a good quality name the quality should follow over to their merchandise.

go to home depot or something like that and get the stuff called plastidip and brush it on it comes in all kinds of colors and it is rubber like so it can tolerate the flexing unlike regular paint and also prevents rust

AZ4x4f150 thats a great tip. You'll want to remove the springs and probably clean them down to the bare metal first, prime and paint them with some rust preventative spray paint, then put that plasti dip stuff on. Thats probably the best way to do it, but obviously a lot of work just for some paint on the springs. I painted my springs yellow (in gallery) and after awhile it got chiped and flaked off. Springs take some abuse, its not easy to keep them looking good.

Primary rig is NOW TOTALLED :-X23 :
95' F-150 EB 300/6 5 spd with 4" Superlift, MSD, Ram Air, Gibson Exhaust, 32" BFG Muds
Some pictures in my gallery.

Then theres:

95' Mercury Cougar 4.6L V-8
80' E-350 300/6 and a
3 spd column shifter. Top speed, 65mph, Go Baby Go!

The newest addition to the Ford family is a 99' Mustang GT 4.6L

first thing what kind of roads do you drive down dirt;paved;etc that makes a difference you will get some sort of road grim to chew at the paint skyjacker is a good product its like buying a good set of headers you go with hooker thats a nice product you put them on you start the car in ten minutes the gloss is gone im just saying thats how it goes there are always factors for everything p.s i have skyjacker 4 inch lift on my truck i love it wouldnt trade it for nothing bad 78 f 250

yeah. i'd agree that the paint job on my skyjacker stuff wasn't quiet what i had hoped for. But the quality of the part has overshadowed of the lousy paint. Next week i plan on getting paint and repainting all the parts. Oh well,, i guess that the paint is the least of my concerns.
