I just bought her this week and have all kinds of questions but Ill keep it to two for now.
1)Does anyone know where or if I can buy the wrap around tail light lens that are on her? (both are cracked)
2)Would someone humor me being the newb with the old trucks and after looking at my album, tell me if they think I got a good deal. I got the truck which had a restore started on it 5 years ago, so I got 4 boxes of NOS parts including guages, vent window turns, ****, etc. Also got an extra windshield and chrome channel for it, new wiring harness, weatherstripping for the windshield and both doors, its had new exhaust from the manifold back, and last but not least two sets of baby moon hub caps one of which is Ford embossed still in plastic... I paid 1500$ for all.
Thanks man, I've been messing with my 78 bronco for the last two years and im always skimming the classifieds and web for parts and came across the add for her. I knew from my 78 how hard NOS parts are to come by, so I went out on a limb and made the deal.
The lady I bought her from said that you CANNOT buy the lens for the tail lights anywhere... I find it hard to believe, but so far ive had no luck.
Had my heart racing for a minute. cant find it on taillightking either. Buzzard I checked those out and i may buy them just to have. Unfortunately its not what I need. That lens is for the "Third" brake light over the lic. tag. I know its hard to see in the pic, (they are from the P.O.) but in the pic of the pass. side you can see my rt. tail light. Its a flat lens that takes the line of the body around the corner. Both are in two pieces and I know someones got to have a few, its finding the someone, and then assuming they want to get rid of them
for less than my first born....
Thanks iBuzzard, everyone else, Ive got like three page searches going on while im typing looking for them too. I just love a challenge, and cant stand being told I CANT find something.
I just spoke to an acquaintance of mine who has panel trucks. He said to take it to a plastics fabrication shop, where they will be able to cut a piece of the proper size/thickness,then bend it and drill it.He makes it sound easy.Out here,we have a place called TAP plastics, but most major cities should have a place like that.He said they would need the tail light housing for a template.Steve.
