Pegged it for the 1st time !!!

Today I was cruising back from the ranch and I was on a long stretch of flat, desolate highway. This has been the first "cold" day of the year. It was right at 50* all day long. I was going about 40mph and looked at my boost gauge sitting @ 3psi and figured WTH, it's been a while.

I didn't even floor it, but gave it 3/4 throttle or so. It dumped a cloud of smoke (not much thanks to bio) and my boost gauge went all the way over and stuck at 30 .

I had never been able to get it over ~25 so I am guessing this has a lot to do with the weather and the fact that the a/c was off. I had to try it again, just to make sure .

Just had to share, it was actually pretty thrilling to see the needle pegged over like that!

David, I do that every once in a while too. Yes the cold weather will have an effect on boost and power. The best drag racing is done in the cold weather.

Thats what the mods are about.

ALways great when you feel a 8K truck throw you back in your seat . Its really nice when you smoke out the ricer and the entire intersection

30PSI will work great until you get a new turbo.

i can see how one can get addicted to the game. couldn't pull that off in 100* weather. didn't even floor it this time. it is really fun, but i miss the smoke.

now that diesel is coming down ($2.49), maybe i should stop at a station and get some. I haven't been to one in over a year, and I can say I don't miss it.

empiretc, I know what you mean. Nice for it to be down a little bit but still don't understand why it is more that gasoline!!!

i know Justin. it is $1.10 more than gas here.

has anyone seen those CA intake systems that have an electric fan in them? kind of like a supercharger style system. The wife was planning on buying me an AFE for xmas, but maybe I should consider on of those.

That should help push boost numbers in hotter weather shouldn't it?

I wouldn't go with that it doesn't sound like it would gain you any more performance, you could find alot better things to spend your money on like.... more tunes from Jody .

The reason diesel is so much more is all the aditives in the ULSD formula and the demand is more for diesel then gas.

Youd probably get more boost out of a strong 80 tune than a 140 tune anyway. Reminds me, if i ever get around to bending my needle again that i gotta get me a 60, or even 100psi gauge

I hear ya. I have to brake sometimes after passing a vehicle to keep from running over the next one. Once you get'r going, she flies.

I had the hardest time watching the gauges when i mashed on the pedal because i was boogying so fast that i kept my eyes on the road. Starting to look more often now though, getting used to the power. Took my father inlaw for a ride 2 days ago and he almost pooped his drawers, slow down, slow down he said. LMAO.. Good deal with the boost needle pinned, got to try it now on my 30.

I have my boost gauge on the steering column. I debated on which one to put there and I think now having that one there is a bad thing. It's just too tempting.

I believe you Kris. once your bad **** is running, you'll probably start a thread with the same title about your 100psi gauge!!!
