ok first off this site is great it has alot of great info. can anyone ansewer this question. why is it my stock 2001 f250sd is higher off the ground in the front end and looks level compare to my 2002 f350sd work truck with is higher in the back lower in the front and the 02 doesnot have a steering stabalizer shock and the 02 has one

 

The front should be very similar in height, but the 350 has a 2'' bigger rear block between the spring and axle tube then the 250 does. Cant help ya on the steering stabilizer.

 

how hard is it to swap the blocks out? if i wanted to take the rubber block out of the 350 and put it in the 250. can if even be done without touching the rear leaf springs

 

Should be possible. You will likely need to swap the U-bolts too though. Measure it up before you start, ensure that the U-bolts will be the right length for both rigs, just in case you need to get some new ones before you start.

 

Buy new U-bolts when you replace the blocks.

 

You will have to unbolt the axle from the leaf springs to replace the blocks. The F-350 blocks are 93mm and you will need new u-bolts in place of the F-250 u-bolts. Below are the links to the order guides for the 2001 F-250 and the 2002 F-350. It looks like the 2001 and 2002 came with the steering damper only if you ordered the off-road package. Check the door label for the front spring codes. I'm willing to guess that your F250 has stiffer front springs. Mine did. My '99 F250 had "U" code front springs, my current F350 has "T" code front springs and it shows as my F350 sits lower in the front. Both trucks had 4" blocks in the rear as my '99 was a Job 1 model.

Front spring codes:
R - 3600 lbs
S - 4000 lbs
T - 4400 lbs
U - 4800 lbs
V - 5200 lbs
W - 5600 lbs
X - 6000 lbs
Y - 7000 lbs
Z - 7500 lbs

 

Did you mean the '02 doesn't have a stabilizer, and the '01 F250 DOES?

Depending on what options you ordered, the front springs on the F250 might have been stepped up, as someone else already stated.

My '01 with no options would not have had a stabilizer, but it had heavy-service suspension option, which stepped up the front springs one step, and added overloads to the rear, and it got a stabilizer.
