Anyone have any experience with the Eagle Alloy Series 114 in 20"? Wondering if I will have any backspacing/rubbing issues?
The owner told me they were 20"x9.5" rims, but Eagle Alloy spec. sheet. says they only produced a 10"wide or 8.5"wide rim. So I don't know.
How much would I need to lift my truck? Don't want a huge lift. I want something to make these wheels look just right. Pics of some Superdutys in my generation on 20's would be help if you guys have any available. Let me know what type of lift you used.
Also a question about lifting, are the kits different for 2WD and 4WD? I was looking over at trucktoyzperformce and the website only had lift kits under 4WD for my generation.
I just pulled a set of the 114s off my 2003 Excursion which I believe should be the same suspension setup as your '04. They were the 20 x 8.5. No spacers needed, and no rubbing. You are right they only make them in 8.5 and 10s. They worked on my Ex just fine, but it had a 6" lift. I think they would fit with a 3-4" too, depending on what tire size you go with. I went with a 3" lift and went to 18s on the wheels. Do you already have the wheels or are you looking to buy a used set?
Looking to buy, but the ones in question are fairly local so it would save me on shipping. PM me a price .
The only thing I notice is your Ex is 4WD and I believe you stock suspension may be different than my 2WD. So i would definitely need a lift kit, but then comes that other question. I see alot 4WD lift kits forsale, but no 2WD?!
edit: Pics of your Ex with the 20's on would be great if you have any just to see what 6' lift looks like.
I don't have any pics with the 6". Sorry. Not sure about the 2WD lifts. I know they are out there. I know Pro Comp makes one. There are a ton of guys on this forum who can help you out there. There is a guy on here (DCSpecial I think) who sells lifts and can get you some pretty good pricing from what I hear.
I love the looks of the 35's but I don't know if my rims will fit 35's. Hoping someone with Eagle Alloy experience will chime in.
Will a 4" lift be enough to clear 35" tires on 20" rims?
I also would like my truck to have a level look. Stock right now I notice the rear end is a couple inches higher than my front end even with a trailer behind it. Will a lift kit level everything out or will I need to purchase something else to get it level?
I love the looks of the 35's but I don't know if my rims will fit 35's. Hoping someone with Eagle Alloy experience will chime in.
What brand and model tires are you planning on getting? Each manufacture is going to have a width recommendation for their tire size and model. You should be able to find this information on their web site or ask at your local tire shop.
I would guess that with 10" wide wheels most 35's will fit without an issue but it is always best to check.
Heh...I say my rims, but really not my rims yet. As I recall though the owner gave me a 9.5" wide measurement, but eagle alloy says they only produced a 10" and a 8.5" wide. So it's either one of the two.
What if it's the case the rims turn out to be 8.5" wides, will I then need to look at a tire that is narrower than 35"? If so, what is the max I can go on 8.5" wide rims? Thank you all so much for the input.
