Question about leveling kits?

Hello all,
I have a question about leveling kits? I want to raise the front of my 01 X to make it level with the back and wanted to know what you guys thought was the best with out breaking the bank. The 3 I know of are Mini spring packs, Shackles, and blocks. So what do you think is the best,
Thanks
Nick

No blocks on the front, they add to the torque on the springs which will change caster and camber during hard braking. It can be very dangerous.

I rather like hanger kits for leveling. Some what like shackles, except they move the shackle mount point lower.

Add-a-leafs have a tendency to make the ride harsher. With good shocks you should be able to counter act it. But the hangers re-use the stock springs as-is, so the ride shouldn't be effected.

As above no blocks.

I have installed on two different SD's. One was replacement springs the other was a hanger kit. The spring kit did make the front end a little stiffer. With the hanger kit I knew the lift I got would be what was advertised. With the spring kit I actually got slightly more than the advertised lift. Both of my kits were by Procomp. The hanger kit cost less than the spring kit.

If it helps, I have an 03 F350 that I put the Fabtech 3.5" leveling kit into. It is a hanger kit that is easy to install and did not change the ride or how the truck drives.

Do you have to switch to longer shocks with a hanger kit?

My hanger kit came with new shocks and cams (probably not a good explanation but the best I can do) for the track bar.

Sure, but at a rediculous price. My plan- Pro Comp hanger/shackle kit and X-code springs, unless I find something used on the cheap.

No, it rides almost like stock with the air at 5 psi the minimium. I have the on board air compressor, its set to air both front air bags or both back air bags. It will raise the truck 4"-5".

I take it you have coil springs in the front? I was wondering, because there is a company that makes an airbag kit for the front of leaf spring superdutys. I thought about buying that kit for my 02.
