surging help
i own a 06 ford f350 PSD and i noticed last night it was surging a little while idling in the drive thru and it also did it at home when i got back,its not surging much but where it idles i think it is like 750 rpm and it will bounce like 50 rpm ever 20 seconds or so and i was wondering if it is crappy diesel or is something gonna go right away,im gonna unistall the programmer and see if that help.

Mine was surging also and I thought bad diesel at first as well. I ended up adding injector cleaner, didn't help, then I had the fuel filters done and when it was in the shop the found it had a faulty EGR. Replaced it, new filters and the latest PCM flash and so far, so good!

Unfortunately I don't have any advice on the surging. I just wanted to comment that if you have it serviced by Ford and they flash the PCM you should make sure you put you stock settings back in before you take it to them. If they flash it when it is not stock settings it could cause a problem. I am sure you knew that and I don't want to waste your time but, I would hate to see you post later that something happened if I knew and could have done something about it. Hopefully the EGR would do the trick for the surge. Good luck and let us know.
