need advice

ford 95 4x4 5.8 engine won't start changed battery and cables..... just clicks under hood on passenger side of firewall looks like a regulator of some sort please help jay

ITs the starter solenoid easy to replace shouldnt cost you a fortune! You can try to jump the two big studs that stick out on the solenoid if you want to test it to make sure. IF it then cranks you know its the solenoid.

It also has a solenoid on the starter. Check the connection of the small wire at the starter. They are a push on connection and in the habit of not making good connection.
