I didn't know what to put this under, so I figured why not where the parts are located?? I had to repair a blown brake line (STEEL) in the frame of my F350. One problem, the repair works fine, but I need to bleed the brakes, and can't. The bleeder valves won't budge!! They are super locked, and penetrating fluid didn't help. I don't want to crank to hard, cause I don't wanna break them off! Any other way of bleeding them?? Or any ideas for this problem at all?? Please help, my brakes are real spongy due to the air trapped in them!! Thanks in advance for any help!!
I assume that you are talking about the brake line from the front to the back brakes? If so then yes too much force on those cheap bleeders will definately kill them. If you have a torch(even propane) you can try and give em a little heat right at the thread but be careful! Did you change the line right to the rear flex hose? If so you can bleed from there which we did sometimes in the shop when the customer never wanted to spend money on cylinders. Just get a buddy in the vehicle to slowly push the peddle down while you crack open the line at the hose.If you have been driving for any length of time with no brakes to the rear this method may be too late as air may have reached the cylinder already. But trust me if you catch it early it can work real good!
