heater core question

I have a 94 F250W. Single cab. Is the heater core a engine compartment mounted or is it cab mounted? How will I know? I need to replace it. I have the hoses off and they are joined together to stop the leaking.

It's cab-mounted, directly behind the glove box.

I don't know if it's identical to the setup in my '87, but you can't get one much easier to replace. I think mine took maybe 30 minutes start to finish, but my coolant was good, and I didn't lose much.

Of course, make sure you get the right core wherever you go ... Advance sold me the wrong one the first time!

open glove box, take contents out, press in on sides to have it move out of the way.

remove the plate you see, 7 screws i think.

remove core.

check that flapper door works and is not obstructed.

reverse order.

That's funny, I had to replace my heated core today after reading this just a few days ago. Noticed a slight scent of antifreeze and a slick film on my windshield. Went to NAPA bought the core and 20 minutes later the job was done.
