Hello all Im new to this and was wondering if anyone knew where i could could a new headliner for my 79 F-250 4x4. I would like to find a vinyl or leather like covered one. Any Ideas.
You could take your cardboard one down and glue whatever you wanted to it, or try your local upholstery shop. There are tons of places online that can sell you something as well, however I dont know where to point you. You can try clicking on the links at the lower left corner of the screen, the "Sponsors serving this section:" A few of those places I am sure offer OE replicas, however I am not sure if they do custom stuff.
Hi, I took mine down and glued a vinyl cloth materal on it. Found it in the bathroom stuff at menards. I later found a vinyl one in a 79 lareit but its green and I need blue.
Just go to your local fabric supply store. You will be the only male there (ha ha!) Anyway, they typically have a selection of foam covered fabric, as well as vinyls and leathers you could use. I think a Ford pickup of our era could possibly be the easiest one to do. Unscrew the trim. Remove the backer board. Glue the new material to the backer board (Use 3M brand general trim adhesive, follow the directions exactly.) Allow the headliner glue to dry overnight before you flip it upside down, then reinstall.

Use pleather and plastic paint (or dye), make it the color you want...
