Suspension Question

I have a 96 F-350 dually and I was thinking about changing just the front spindles and etc. To 8 lug 3/4 or 1/2 suspension. Reason being the 3/4 and 1/2s do not have as wide of a track as the one ton truck. You might think its dum or stupid. But here is my problem I want to run the factory 1-ton mags all around the truck. And I can with the factory 1-ton spindles and disc. But the rims will not bolt up to 3/4. Because the way the factory 1-ton rims are made. But maybe I could adapters on the 3/4,if there fit. Anyone know if the i-beams are shorter on the 3/4 the the 1-ton dually. If they are maybe I can run 3/4 or 1/2 i-beams and use the 1-ton spindles. So you asking now why in the hell would I wanta mix suspension parts like this. Heres why. I did a ground up build on a 1952 truck and mounted it on a 96 F-350 dually frame. The truck looks great, but the front wheels stick out a little. But if I could pull the wheels under the front fenders a little it would be better. It turns great. But to me the stick out to far and if I drive through any thing the wheel will throw it on the fender outside also. Anything would be better. Even1or2 inches in. One guy said have the I-beams pro-shortened. (cut&welded) I rather not. Anyone known of some one narrowing a 1-ton front end. Maybe using 1/2,3/4,or1-ton single wheel parts ? This is a driver not a hauler,so I donot depend or need 1-ton front suspension.Just wanta run the dually rims. And before it is mention,I will as the guys in the FTE early ford forum also. THANKS !
