I need some help picking my rims...I'm gonna get the AE 589's with 33"x12.50"x15" BFG MT Km's....My question is what size wheels to get, the 15"x10"s with 3 5/8" backspacing or the 15"x8"s with 3 1/4" backspacing. What are the pros/cons of getting the 15"x10"s besides if I ever decide to go larger. Will the extra backspacing help keep the tires from rubbing the fool outta the radius arms? What about the 15"x8"s?
Thanks Ya'll

The pros for those 15x10's would be very little or no tire rub on the radius arms, the tire will have a footprint that is more flat, and as you said the option to go to bigger tires. The cons are the extra wear and tear on components such as wheel bearings due to the extra width. When the tires stick farther out there is an increased torque load because of the longer moment arm (T=F*d). However, I wouldn't worry about it that much with 33's unless you drive it really hard. Additionally, those tires sticking out past the fenderwells will throw up a lot of junk all over your truck. I have 33x12.50s mounted on 15x8 with a backspacing of 3.7". These stick out past my fenders less than 1/4" but do rub my extended radius arms slightly at full lock. Its your call, good luck.
