I think greenpus is refering to the little 1/4" thick cheap aluminum plates you can get at autozone etc. to help gain some clearance for ill fitting rims (rubbing at brakes) YES, they should be avoided.
The ones I reffered to in another post are made from CNC machined Alloy Billitt and have studs. I would think twice about putting them on a serious off-road ride with hugh rubber but for on-road use I would recommend them.
BTW, have you seen an Expy from the back? the wheels are just set in to far.
don't use wheel spacers. in all my years of mounting and ballancing tires I've seen plenty of really messed up vehicles that have used them. My sudjestion would be to get the right offset wheel you would like and use them. Also the spacers can crack and break apart while you are driving thus loosening your wheels and perhaps loosing a wheel on the road...Just something you should think about. Mike..
