Well, Thanks to everyone.. WHen It first happend Saturday night, I thought for sure I lost the CPS. We towed it back to the house backwards, no place to turn her around on this road, its a tad wider then a two track. Man I was pissed, Where I was at, the closes place that would be open on Sunday would have been a 1 hour ride, both ways..I talked my self into going out in the woods for the morning hunt, but wasnt really into it. All I wanted to do was get my truck back on line. (I had already had a vacation day cancelled for Monday, I am supposed to be driving to Chicago right now. That is another story in its self.) Sat from 5:30 until 9:00 and stripped off the hunting clothes and started into it. When I turned the key on, I noticed there was no Wait to start light, no biggie I thought, but I have never heard of the O/D off light being on.. That was what scared me. So, I called the wife and had her type out my request for help!! I remembered from so many postings about a blown fues, For what ever reason I though it is was the AIH, not the fuel bowl though. Went through my fuse book, found nothing. So I started looking at the Power distribution block under the hood, nothing.. Then started looking under the dash. Got back into the owners manual and I noticed #30 controlled the PCM, there it was blown. Meanwhile, my wife was relaying all of the messages back, at first she thought she was going to get some answer like" call a tow truck" , or " sucks to be you".. She gets it now..She did have a response for Rick though.. " if I want all of those goodies on my truck, then it is time for me to give up my hunting, fishing, camping, ect trips..." I dont think I will be modding my truck anytime soon .
For any of you I couldnt rep right now, Sorry, believe ,me, I want to.. Thanks again every one!!!
Good deal Pat. Glad you got her running again. Thats one of the worst feelings when the truck don't start. I don't blame you for not giving up the fun stuff. . Tell your wife she did great on here.
Glad it turned out to be a cheap fix Pat! I wasn't around yesterday for any advice, but that's the great thing about FTE....there is ALWAYS somebody here to help!
You need to unplug the fuel bowl heater, then replace the fuse. More than likely you've got a bad heater wire in the fuel bowl and that's what is blowing the fuse. You'll be fine running the truck with this unplugged. If you leave it plugged in, you'll just blow the fuse again.
