An A4ld Question

ok guys i really need help with this one one of my rangers the 1991 with the 2.3 4 cyl dual plug and its A4LD auto tranny. well the other day we had to change out the oil pressure sending unit cause the plastic had cracked and it was spewing out mobil 1 at a rate of a quart a day for 2 days ugghhhhh
anyway we raised the truck up on jack stands cause getting at the sending unit is almost impossible from the top anyway we got it changed.

Now for the big question the truck is running like crap replaced the plugs, wires and fuel filter and it runs a little better but still has no power when u step on the gas it feels like a big vacuum leak but i cant figure out where ????? does the A4LD have any vacuum controls to it or can anybody else think of maybe another vacuum source on the bottom side i might have knowcked off?????????? i looked everything over and everything seems ok except for all the oil on the bottom of the truck maybe oil got into the wiring somewhere???
Im at a loss here and want one more stab at it before i drive it to the great blue oval in town and give him a bunch of cash i dont have

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!
thanx again guys
happy holidays

Steve

What Others Have Done:
'Odysseus' -I recently had some trouble with the truck bucking sporadically, or when it rained. The EGR valve was sticking. I removed the hose that comes out from the fuel injector to the valve and plugged it with an ink pen. Cleared it right up. I actually noticed it has a little more power too. Just trying to save you guys some trouble.

I haven't thought about EGR much for past few years as I haven't had engines using it. Getting codes & checking pcv & EGR should always be high on troubleshoot lists of drivability. That big leak could have done something to oil temps at some point causing just enough smoky crud to block up the passages. Probably just need cleaning of the main valve. Hope it works for ya.

Check for codes, clean the MAF, replace the air filter, check fuel pressure - just a few standard things to check. A sticking EGR would likely lead to a cruddy idle, as the mix would be messed up. A MAF symptom is hesitation and lurchy reaction to throttle opening.
