ya it makes a difference, take it out and take your time. i learned the hard way, never hurry when it comes to fixing your car or truck not even changing your wheels around
we've all don't it, some guys crack the water neck housing by over tightening one side. So don't fell bad thats how we learn not what to do..my 2cents

Yeah get it right ...as mentioned we ALL pull some Bone heads moves even after years of wrenching..(over 40 years) for me... And I did one just the other day !
Putting on some 8mm plug wires on My Power Ram...Got the job all done "I" thought ! Cranked and cranked.... Got out, looked all over the motor..I knew the only things I had touched were new plugs and the new wires...
Got back in and tried it again !! Stopped Cranking for fear of burning up the Starter ! Scratching my azz and my head...I took another look ! To find out the coil wire was not pushed all the way into the coil and didnt snap in as it should have !! Re-adjusted the coil wire clip to fit better in the coils female end !!
Get in the Cab and just bumped the starter and we had fire in the hole again!! A 15 min job took me an hour to do right ! LOL...
It'll happen like this til the day I die !! LOL...
