My Autometer Pryo gauge is not lighting completely - the lower half of the gauge is dark. Unfortuantely, it is the lowest gauge on the pod.
As I did not install the pod myself, I am a little uncertain on how to best remove the pod without damaging anything. I assume I remove the door weatherstripping and pry out the pod with a screwdriver. Is this correct?
Any idea why the top of the gauge is lit and not the bottom. Are there 2 bulbs per gauge?
Any pictures on how to remove the pod?
I assume it is not going to be easy to get back on...
I have Autometers Like Ron said, grip the front of the guage a remove it from the pod. There should be enough wiring to allow for that. What style Autometers do you have? There are tech sheets on the Autometer website.
Same setup that I have. There is one small bulb in each light with a colered cover. The pyro will have the bulb wiring and the thermo wire for the pyro itself. The lamp will be in the top of the guage.
I pulled out the gaauge but there was not enough slack for me to look at the back of the gauge.
Any idea on what could cause the top of the gauge to be lit and the lower part dark? Could I have pulled the bulb out while running (fishing) a new power wire for my radar detector?
I can tell you from experiance, after time, the slack you leave in the wires will find their way down the A pillar and under the dash. You can probably find the wire bundle and push (with care not to kink the boost line) back up and find someway to tie wrap. I left plenty of slack in all mine when I installed them, I needed to pull the pyro gauge because of a funny reading and there was no slack at all. After I pushed some slack back in, the gauge works correctly again as no pulling in connections.
