Anyone running coolant bypass system?

Anyone runnig a bypass system? How hard was it instaling? I just ordered one from diesel site. Last time I looked in my resivure tank it was full of slime and figured that cant be good for any part of the truck.

What do you all add to the cooant to keep all the numbers in check? Any one using charged filters?

I have had mine on for about a year. It is not hard to install and the best way to keep the numbers right is by using test strips to test the coolant.

The hose coming out of the passenger head and runs to the heater is your pressure line. Just put a "T" or "Y" in the hose and run it to the "Inlet" side of the filter. The hose that comes out of the top of the water pump is the return line. Another "T" or "Y" and run this to the "Outlet" side of the filter and viola, it's installed.

I have not run a charged filter with my set up. I mounted the filter on the drivers side below the hood hinge. It's out of the way, one hose was routed with the wire loom on the cowl over the engine to the passenger side. The other was a short run to the Water pump.

To prevent chaffing I used different lengths of 3/4" heater hose split length wise and slipped them in place where the filter hoses laid on sharp or hard objects.

I hope this helps.

I used the NAPA 4019 filter base and I use 4070 filters. The SCA in the NAPA filters isn't the same as the stuff International makes. I figure it's better to use the stuff directly from International since it was formulated for our engines.

The fittings all came from Fitzilla. My truck has the overflow tank instead of the degas bottle like later PSDs. The filter is installed between the heater hoses. I cut the heater hoses and put this inline. I made the alternator bracket in the machine shop at work.
