So I was bee-bopping along in my golf cart at work when I came upon FRI's crew; hired landscapers. They were jumping up and down on the tailgate of an ex-cab long bed Dodge HD Cummins. The truck was stuck in the mud! Anyway, I pulled my Mini-Rig around and hooked up the tow strap.Scared of getting stuck myself, I tried not to spin the tires much. I did let the tires turn slowly to try and get a bite. Anyway, out came the big Dodge. I was grinning like a fool.
I just wanted to share this with you all! So far I've pulled out a stuck Super Duty attached to a camper trailer and a Heavy Duty Dodge.
That's a Ford for ya!
Edit: By the way, did I do the right thing by letting my tires spin slowly? Or should I have kept them from spinning all together? Or are you supposed to fluxuate?
if you have some mud tires you are supposed to spin them a little bit untill you stop moving but with street tires your best bet it to give it a yank and not spin your tires for fear of getting stuck

This story made me laugh. Nothing like suprising people. Everything thinks six shooters aren't good for anything, but I've got six in a row that proves different. It's about how the motor is built. Our 300's were made to pull, and pull they do. After I tugged the Dodge out I goosed my truck so they could hear it's a six, ha!
Is your truck four wheel drive? You mentioned snow.
By the way, I'm not saying the reason I pulled out the Dodge was because of my 300. It's the combination of things, I know. It's all in how the vehicle is built. =)
By the way rockin300, I have a hard time believing a 300 6 would outpull a hemi, the guy driving the hemi would have had to not know a damn thing about yanking someone out of the snow.

Its not all in the motor. Tires are a big thing, I have hooked onto things with my old truck that was a straight six that my new truck (see sig) won't touch. Its all in the power to weight ratio and of course tires. (even though the ones that were on the straight six are now on the new one.)

Back in the day, I would cruise the interstate here in Va after a snow storm and ****** the "unfortunates" from the ditch or embankment. I never charged any money becuase it made me feel good, but I turned a pretty good profit from the victims offerings.
The Va state police stopped us from doing this some years back. I guess we were cutting in on tow truck business.

Yeah for sure, I guess I should have added, "or had bald tires" haha.

Thats too bad they they stopped you from doing that. I wonder if its actually illegal to tow someone out of the ditch though??

I was told by a tropper while I was hooking up a car in 1994 that state property is off limits to private motorists assisting stranded motorists. He threatened to ticket me if I didn't unhook and leave.
A lot of people don't have the money to pay a wrecker for thier wintery misfortunes, I considered myself a humanitarian.
What's a hard core 4 wheeler to do? Find a mud hole, or a power line, or an open field, or a construction site.
