On my 04 F250 I have to wierd sounds that I can't seem to figure out.
1. When driving at slow speeds (probably present at higher speeds but wind drowns it out) coming from the rear are of the truck it sounds like a dull rubbing noise. Almost as if the rear brakes were shot and were constantly rubbing. I've jacked the back end up and spun the wheels by hand and can still hear the noise. Brakes are all good, and nothing is binding. Maybe a bad axle bearing?
2. When driving at slow speeds and I put the transmission in neutral and coast, after a couple seconds there is a little "thump". I suspect maybe the rear slip-joint as there is a little rotational play in there but nothing too bad.
