thats what i thought, after driving Mack trucks their turn signal switch does not return either so you get used to it , but with my ford it doesn't opperate as smothly as the Mack, so returning it manually is not as convenent.

Dave, I believe it is called a cam. It is a white plastic piece with a couple of grabbers that return the lever to center.

Should be available at your favorite parts house for $8-10.00 my guess.

You can buy the plastic cancelling cam at most autoparts stores, but installing it on the old switch can be a b!tch.

If all else fails, you can still buy a new switch from Ford.

C9TZ13341C .. T/S Switch

Fits: 1965/66 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100 4WD / 1967/68 F100/350 / 1969 F100/350 before serial number G30,001.

My turn signals work sometimes and sometimes not. I'll be driving down the road, use the turn signal and it works. 2 minutes later nothing flashes. If i pull the emergency ****, the turn signals light up and stay on but not flash. I replaced the flasher, but no luck. Sometimes it flashes, sometimes not.. Any ideas? My auto cancel doesn't work. But 90% of the time i ride my motorcycle so i am used to that! I'm just wanting to fix my turn signals.

There are TWO flashers behind the dash, both look identical.

One is for the Emergency Flashers, one for the turn signals.

Dave, Can't say if your flashers are dead or not, but they are inexpensive to replace.

I see dirt and corrosion as the culprit, clean your bulb sockets, check all wire connections, look for grunge in spliced trailer connectors etc. all places for dirt and crud to collect. IMHO

They like a clean environment to work properly.

The turn signals act like they aren't receiving power or something. Then at other times work fine. Is there a relay or something?

WHAT?!?!?!

I have got to check that out! Not that I don't believe you... actually, i have replaced my flasher with a LOUD flasher, and don't think I've ever used the emergency flasher **** on my truck. I will have to listen and see if it is noticeably quieter!

NumberDummy, you are an irreplaceable wealth of information. I would say you were a great person but I'm still convinced you are an advanced computer system, possibly the first beginnings of Artificial Intelligence. You're like half person, half machine.
