Problem bleeding rear brakes-Fronts OK

Trying to bleed rear brakes. Have an assistant depressing brake pedal while I open and close the bleed screw. Brake fluid barely comes out of bleed screw and brake pedal is very hard to depress while bleeding both rear brakes. The fronts are OK. When bleeding the fronts the pedal pressure was light during bleeding and when the screw was opened the fluid shot out like Old Faithful in Yellowstone Park. There must be a blockage somewhere that is common to both sides in the rear only. The rotors in the rear had a light coating of rust so I knew the pads weren't even clamping the rotors. Any ideas on where I should start looking?

Trace the brake lines back from the rear wheels to the front of the truck. Look for signs of damage to the lines. Look closely at any rubber hoses that are in these lines too. Good luck!

What year-how is it equipped? F150 in the '97-'03 range have either RABS or 4WABS.

What happens if you open the lines at the master cylinder with the pedal depressed? Does fluid come out? If not the master isn't sending fluid out.

Also, if the pedal is depressed with no pressure in the rear the combination/proportioning valve should flip to one side preventing fluid flow to that circuit of the brakes. If that is your problem you can usually solve it by opening a bleeder on the side that works and stomping on the brake pedal to recenter the valve.

Check to see if the bleeder has a bunch of crap built up in it. This happens alot if you offroad or the little rubber end caps are off the bleeder.

I have an 02. I bleed my lines once a year and I don't recall any difference between the fronts and the backs, they both squirt fluid with a full 1/4" stream. I would suspect the bleeders are obsrtucted, altough it's wierd that both are obstructed at the same time.
