Air horn setup

Hey guys-

I did a net search and found a post on here, but can't find it now.

Anyway, 2000 Ex diesel, adding a ViAir 380C air compresser, Grover 1510 emergency air horn, and a 2.5 gallon air tank.

Few questions:
1) Where to put the compresser. I've seen btwn the frame and running boards on pass side, and also heard of inside the rear heater fan door. I'd like to keep it inside and out of the elements, but wondering about the volume of the compresser when it's running? If inside, how did you run wires into and out of truck?

2) How did you mount the horn(s)? I've also seen many put the horn btwn frame and running boards on passenger side. My problem is, I don't have any metal fab experience AT ALL. The horn I ordered does have a rear and front mount, but wondering what you guys used to mount yours. Hopefully you're learning on your truck will help me too. Any pics are appreciated.

Thanks!

We mounted all eight horns between the frame rails and side steps; then mounted the tank and compressors between the frame rail and the drive shaft. There are pictures in my gallery that you can check out for some more ideas. Hope that helps.

Thanks, Bryan
