I have a 87 Bronco II v/6 with a burned relay. It is located on the passenger side fender. I think it is an EEC Relay. It got hot and burned and I cannot locate part #. It has no wires on the burned section and plugs into another section with wires. 5 connectors and is abt 1 x 2 in rectangular.
Engine will not turn over now. Need some help on part #. Thanks
HH
Replace the relay and check the fusible links at the starter relay on the fender.
87 has 2 or 3, 1-fuel pump, 1-EEC and 1-horn. I'd buy the one for the EEC and fuel pump, they both have the same function but they plug in different IIRC, save a trip and get both.
Hopefully the relay just got old and the points wore and it got hot, replacing it should be all that is needed as far as that goes.
When that relay fried it no doubt took out the fusible link and is probably the reason it won't turn over. No power to the ignition switch.
If not, post back and well see what else could be the problem/s.
