Glow plug light at startup??

I am new to diesel engines. I just bought a 2008 F250 SD with the 6.4 diesel engine. I have had it for 2 days and have never seen the glow plug light come on. In my manual, it says that it looks like a coil and will go off when it is ready to start but I have never seen it. Where is the light indicator located? The temp. here has been around 40-50 degrees. Should I be seeing the light? I have just been starting it but now I am worried. Also, I hear some talk about different models that are in 2008. Did they make some changes in the middle of the year?

Light should be located on the left hand side of the drivers display. It should be coming on every time you start the truck. You should get it checked if it is new

I just saw it for the 1st time. It came on for a second or 2 then went off. At least now I know where to look. Like I said, I just got it so I want to do everything right. I have only drove it 5-10 times. Thanks for all the help.
