Is there a reference for decoding factory options from the VIN or door tag?
I just got an `86 F150 4x4 5.0 AOD I'd like to check into, specifically would like to know what transfer case and what gears are in it.
I ran the vin decoder from this site and it all came up right, reg cab short bed 4x4 5.0 aod, would just like to know some more about it if possible.
I know I can check the tag on the 8.8" if it's still there but I haven't found a good spot to pressure wash the underside of the truck off yet, it's a little muddy so I can't even see the diff cover bolts let alone the tag hanging off one of them
my truck is an 86 f 150 4x4 5.0 aod trans. yours is prob the same and should have the np 208 transfercase and you can find the axle code on the drivers side door jamb.
