axle shaft
i ruined a left side rear axle shaft on my 1998. its a 8.8 3.73 ratio with a 28 spline axle. Can any one tell me which year rear end i can take an axle out of for a replacment. Are they all the same from 93 up or is there a difference? Something makes me want to think the rears with 4.10's had a 31 spline. Any help would be great

only the fx42 had the 31 spline shafts, and i think 1 or 2 years of the reg fx4, best bet would be to just find a 8.8 from a non fx4 to be sure, and sorry not sure when ford started using their 8.8 but from 94 on you should be fine
