I don't see any reason why not. There's a guy I know around here that has a 78 F-150 w/ a 9" sus. lift and bushwacker cut out's and he has plenty of room for the 42" Swampers he runs. I have a 76 highboy w/ 3-4" of lift and cut fenders and I have plenty of room for 38's and maybe 40's. I guess it would depend mostly on the year of the truck but, I can't think of a Ford 1ton that couldn't fit 38"+ w/ 9" of lift and fender trimming. Heck, an old highboy w/ that much would be towering over 44's!
Lee, you shouldn't have any problem. I usually clear 38s with 8" kits so with cut-outs you won't have any problem. You may however need to shim your front bumper forward a bit depending on what brand tire and how wide a wheel.

i"m running 39 inch gound hawgs with just 4 inches of body lift on my 79 f-150 4x4.. no problems at all....other than a rough noisey ride..lol.. but it looks like a total chevy cruncher...
ford boy you have 39 inch tires and a 4 inch lift do you have cuts on that f150.im trying to figure out what size to to run on my 78 f 250 i have a 4 inch skyjacker suspension lift on mine i have 33's on it now has lots of clearance i dont want to put a body lift or cut fenders if i dont have to bad 78 f 250
hey bad 78.. no i did"ent have to cut the wheel wells, i have about 3 inches of clearence and i"ve never hit yet, but then my truck is strickly show and has never been off road or had so much as a spare tire in the box..
hey ford 78, you can run 37's with just the 4 inch lift, without any problems, i have some pics of mine with that setup, if you run a wider tire like a 38.5x16, youll need the 6 inches of lift, more tire than that and youll have to do a little mild trimming on parts of the fender..unless u do a body lift
i got a set of tsl sx's monday 38.5x14.5-16.5 they fit with the 4 inch lift i have to get wider rims i have them on stock 8 inch rim right now once i get the 12 inch rim i can start driving the truck i may have to cut lower front fender but i hope i dont
youl prolly end up having to trim the lower back portion along with the ;lower front part of the front fenders..if u use it off the road where the suspenion sees some movement
