Hey everybody,
My g/f's father has a 57 F100 that we are planning on restoring. We are having some problems finding parts, mainly the hood. Our hood is creased from the previous owner. We have been searching catalogs for the past 2 years but haven't seen anything. I know that 57 was a dramatic change in the body so that is the reason for the difficulty in finding parts. Any help would be great. Also if you have any pics of your 57 resto that would be great too. Thanks!!!
Hey man I have a '58 and I am also having the same problems. I went to an Iola Wis. car show this last summer and all I got for my truck was a radio and an owners manual. This car show is probably one of the biggest in the upper midwest.

This is the reason why I coined the phrase "Orphan Years" trucks, no one makes Repro Parts because our trucks aren't popular w/ the Resto & Hot Rod crowd.
So the parts dealers don't see a very good market from those of us that own them.
The '57 & '58 years models will interchange, so if you find a hood from a '58, snag it. The only difference between the two hoods, are the Hood Side Flashes & the Grille, everything else is the same. Or keep your eyes peeled for one @ the older/well established Wrecking/Salvage Yards that specializes in early model vehicles.
Take the hood to a Body Shop, as they should be able to Pound that crease out w/ ease.
If you want a fiberglass and don't mind the 60 F100 hood try US Bodies source Fiberglass Reproduction Body Panels They have just the hood or a whole front clip pretty expensive though. I also have a 58 F100 hood in poor shape (rust) but it is strait at least the last time I saw it. I have also seen plenty at the F100 Supernats for affordable prices.
The 1960 hoods will not fit the 1957 or 1958 grills. It drops down to far in the front and will hit the top of the grill and not latch, this was discussed on another thread I read awhile back. Just my 2 cents. I do have a decent 57 hood but I'm in Michigan.
