K&n ???

A friend of mine has an 03 6.0 and he's talking about putting a K&N air filter on his truck. Is that a good idea or is there something better out there?

Its a bad idea. The stock one is the best unit up to 500 rwhp. If you are at that road, then K&N is the last one you should buy.

I hate to hear that, because that is what I have on my truck...AND the wife's car.

K & Ns are awesome on GAS engines, I run all K & Ns in my Mustang and both fourwheelers. However I put a Banks Ram Air in my truck, its been in there for 40k now and no problems with the turbo or anything. I didn't find out how good the stocker was until after I installed it though, lol.

Thanks guys I'll let him know. He bought the truck new in 03 and it still has less than 30000 miles on it. I think he should stick with the stock one myself.

If the original filter is still on it, it is probably good for another 20,000 miles.
