Fuel leak
I recently changed out the rear gas tank on my f-150 because of a bad leak. My front tank also leaks so i do not use it. The wierd thing is, my fuel level is dropping way faster than normal, and gas is leaking out of the front tank. So what i'm wondering is, is there anyway my return line could be filling up the front tank instead circulating back in to the rear tank? If so, what should i do?

The recall would not apply because that type of fuel system had not been implemented in 89. There are only a couple of possibilities, regardless. Either the mechanical switching valve on the frame rail is sticking and not fully switching, there's an internal leak in the switching valve, or one or both of the in-tank pumps are not delivering enough pressure to fully switch the valve. The lines could be crossed at the switching valve, but that would have been a problem all along, not a recent development unless that was part of your repair.
