Question electrical issues

Hello. i have a 1999 ford ranger and recently having a problem.. i was driving along one day and as i began to take off from a stop light i got up to about 20mph and the truck just died completely, didnt have any power. but then after about 10 minutes i tried starting it and it started right up no problem until i reeved up the engine then it just lost all power again. then drove just fine for about 5 miles back to my house... now when i give it gas while driving the voltage meter starts to drop way down upon accelerating and if i let off the gas the voltage gauge goes back to normal.. and this happens in the middle of the day with no lights no radio nothing consuming power on at all! The battery + post was badly covered in corrosion so i had completely cleaned it but didnt solve the problem and i had the alternator tested and its good & the battery is good also.

can anyone help me with this?

maybe the voltage regulator in the alternator is intermittantly failing.
how was it tested and by whom?

Welcome to FTE.
Good toubleshooting so far.
You may have more than one problem.

Good idea to clean the battery post & I hope you removed the B+ & B- cables to clean the post & inside the battery cable clamp that goes around the post & they are now clean, bright & tight.

Also was a good idea to have the alternator tested, but as 97ranger xlt asked, how was it tested????

Why not consider running this puppy by your favorite autoparts store, for a no cost. in vehicle electrical system check up, via their portable electrical system tester.
Properly used it can likely sniff out your problem.

Let us know what you find.
