So I've read some disturbing news of an issue with spark plugs breaking off on some of the newer model F150's?
Does this apply to the 4.6 models as well? I have a 2004 4.6 XLT F150. I just hit 70,000 miles, and I'm pretty certain the plugs have never been changed.
What kind of plugs are best for these trucks? Is it a tough task? Will I break them off and be screwed like some of these horror stories I've read?
you are in the clear. your 4.6 uses the conventional spark plug.
the 4.6 3v uses the newer style plugs. just change your plugs just like they've been done for the past 100 yrs.
I'd use the Autolites personally. Make sure their properly gapped (sorry, don't know it) and call it a day. Don't waste your money on fancy newfangled spark plugs
