do anybody else put out whitesh smoke after idling or when going from a cold start? or how bout when you shut off @ operating temp go in to lowes for ten min and restart; when take off the first couple of times whitesh gray smoke comes out pretty good but eventually go away, also i noticed my oil spout puffing smoke...
Not good.=Hole in piston, bad rings, o or other wise something that will allow combustion pressure to leak past the piston and into the crank case. Rebuild time!
How strong of a puff? If you put your hand over the oil fill tube to cover the hole, can you feel pressure? If you turn the oil cap upside down on the fill tube, does it blow the cap off, or does it just vibrate off?
Hopefully Kris is wrong, but if you've got pressure coming out of the fill tube, then see above.
White smoke is unburnt fuel... (broken injector, bad piston, bad cylinder wall, bad ring, ect.) Since its "puffing" that would point towards a piston related issue like Kris (strokin_it7.3) said. Go get a FULL compression test done asap...
if it was worst case scenario, wouldnt it smoke all the the time? would it also throw a light? truck dosent run like its about to break, it smokes only after idling a while. i will try and get a vid of the smoke coming out of the spout.
