IM confused

how do you get the upper ball joints off of a 90 f250. ill post pics in a minute. ive done ball joints before but these have me confused. i got the top nut off but cant figure out how to get the slotted nut off.

You gotta take the bottom off with it, you can not just do the top ball joint leaving the bottom in place.

That is the caster/camber adjustment, it is rotated to adjust the position of the top of the knuckle.

There's no way you're getting that adjuster sleeve out without removing the knuckle. You have to unbolt both top & bottom ball joints. Then screw the nut back on the top ball joint stub. Beat it with a hammer until it falls off. If it doesn't come loose, get a bigger hammer. If you don't put the castle nut back on the stud, beating on the stud will mushroom it and you'll never get the knuckle off without cutting the stud.

Once you get the knuckle off, you can hit the adjuster until it comes loose.
