I need to replace the bed on my 93 crew cab dually.
I have access to a 1999 short bed, non dually. I would like to use a short bed as I have use for the space between the cab and bed. Will a 99 bed work and if not what will?
Short answer is no, it won't bolt up. That said, you could make it work, but it would require extensive modification of the wheel wells, fuel door, you would have to re-wire the tail lights, drill new holes for the frame mounts, etc...
Your best bet is to just get an 8ft bed that's meant for an 87-96 truck. If you really want to put a tool box (or whatever) between the cab and bed, go to the scrap yard and find a short and long bed, measure the difference between them and see if you think you can make it work.
Talked to my father (his truck) and he wants to wait until the spring when we can get at the utility bed (it is at our cabin in snow country now) and make sure it is going to fit before getting rid of the truck bed. SORRY
