Fan Clutch
How to check your fan clutch? Would like to know if mine is good or not?

From: Cook Forest and Irwin PA
with engine off spin it. if it moves with some resistance, does not wobble or have metal grindy noises in it - its good.

When mine was going out on my '88, I could feel a vibration in the front of the truck at idle.

Mine passed the smooth resistance spin test but when driving remained fully engaged and sounded like a jet engine on take off. I replaced it and night and day difference in how the motor sounds at cruise.
