I have a 2001 ranger 2.3l 2wd reg cab and I have had this problem for a long time. Every time I wash it or it rains the floor on the passanger side only gets wet, not alarmingly wet, just enough for it to show through the carpet. I was thinking maybe coming in through the vents, but what do you guys think?

I can only relate my experience, again, about a leak up behind the glovebox. If you can get yourself in the passenger seat, upside down, so you can look up at the underside of the cowl, you might find a leak where two panels are spot welded, but they didn't put in enough dum-dum to seal it. I put silicone on the outside, at the base of the windshield, using a popsicle stick.
If you can see rust on the underside, near where the antenna wire passes through from the cold air plenum, there is your leak.
It could also be the windshield seal, but a quick look should tell you if it is the panel butt joint.
