new problem
i have an 86 300 i6 mt. when i got it, it ran rich. so i put a carb kit in it. now it runs like the timing is off. pops out the carb. mybe i put the carb back togather wrong i dont know. first time with a carter 1bl.
any help would be great.

When it pops out the carb is it a flame or an air noise pssst? These "pops" are differant and caused buy differant things.
I suspect it's an air pssttt, this is weirdly enough usually cause buy it being too lean.

The next question has to be when does it happen? Usually this will happen during a throttle transition to accelerate. If so most likely then it would be the accelerator pump is not working properly or enough. With the engine off look down the carb and pump the throttle, you should see a squirt of fuel.
