I have an 04 6.0 EB. For the second time in last 3 months the climate controls (front) have gone dead. Not even outside temp. display. First time this happened I replaced fuse # 23 and all was good with the world. This time, fuse checks out good, swapped with another fuse also and still nothing. Any suggestions?
Same thing happened to mine when it was under warranty, it would go in and out intermittently. The dealer replaced the dash / control unit - no problems since and that was two years ago. The worst part was it finally died on a five house drive through the California desert in the summer. Miserable!
Don't ask me why or how this work but I found this on this forum because I have had the same issue. Turn the head lights on and then off and I think it's with the key off.
Since I bought my 05 in Feb 2005 the c.c. has refused 3 times to "boot up" after starting engine. Have to shut down engine, restart and c.c. works fine. Seems like a computer type issue.
update: Got in to head home from work yesterday PM and all worked fine. Good news....don't have to take it to Ford and I have heat here in chilly Ft. Wayne, Indiana this weekend.
Bad news ...... like an ex-wife...when will this pop up again?
for what ever reason this seems to work... if you have auto headlights truck could be running does not matter... turn the headlight switch to off, then turn on, then turn off, then back to auto... pause a few seconds between steps and this should reset your climate control. I hope this helps it has worked for me several times and also my brother in olaw
Mine has done it once or twice before, came back on after re-starting. Mine was replaced before I got it...was on the oasis report. No idea why it does that??
there's a relay that gets hung up or something and that's why the headlight switch trick works...it can be a sign that the EATC head is going out, but IIRC they are less than $300 new from Powerstrokeshop.com..
