I guess anything is possible but as far as a direct swap, I doubt it.
Length and diameter may be the same. And on these trucks with the way they are mounted that wouldn't make a difference anyway.
The problem you will run into is that the steering box/pitman arm are different as are mounting points.
There's tons of 48-52 columns on e-bay regularly, very reasonable priced. be sure to ask aboutthe condition of the steering box.
